The CSL500 is a twin-rail curved stairlift design that allows for tighter bends along curves. Each unit is custom designed based on a camera system evaluation carried out to ensure an accurate design for your specific set of stairs.
Both indoor and outdoor models are available based on your specific needs. The rail can be configured in black or almond powder coat; almond comes standard.
Curved stairlifts are used in applications where stairs have intermediate landings or turns in them. This mitigates the need for multiple stairlift units and transferring during a trip up or down the stairs. Transferring on an intermediate landing or turn can be dangerous for the user and increase the risk of falling, so a curved unit application is ideal for these kinds of scenarios.
Curved stairlift units also have the ability to wrap around bottom landings. This can allow users to park the carriage and seat out of the stairway to reduce obstruction. Even without the rails configured for park, the CSL500 Helix features a slim carriage profile for one of the more slender unit designs in regards to curved units.
Because these units are ‘built-to-order,’ they require a thorough evaluation prior to ordering using equipment-specific tools, and once ordered, they cannot be returned. Plans are presented to customers prior to moving forward with orders and a lead time of a few weeks should be expected for your custom unit to arrive. Make sure you are dealing with professionals, such as the pro-installers at Summit, when considering a curved stairlift unit for your home or application.
Installation by our talented installers typically takes around half-a-day to a full day, depending on your configuration’s complexity.
